Nothing special about this one either. I am not a fan of romance dramas unless it is comedy-romance like Nodame or Hana Yori Dango. Therefore I would say that this is still watchable… I would say the girl that plays Umi is really cute and talented as well!
I think the only other Japanese child artiste that I used to enjoy watching was Yoshida Riko. I thought she was really really awesome in Shinigami no Ballad. I kinda liked that show as well. I don’t think that show is kinda “popular” but it is the kind of show I like!
I thought she was pretty awesome in Oh! My Girl!! as well. The drama was kinda blah and predictable but I thought she did good… But now I think of it, she wasn’t as young as the girl who plays Umi.. so maybe it is not so facinating after all.. haha..
I don’t know why, but watching Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku reminds me of Kimi wa Petto. Initially when I was Kimi wa Petto, I was weirded out by the whole concept.. but now to think back, it is “pretty normal” for a Japanese show..
I think the reason I wanted to watch this was because of Yuko Takeuchi. I really loved dramas she did did before she went on the mini-hiatus. I remember that a couple of years back I decided to watch Lunch Queen because it starred Yamapi in it. Initially I was disappointed because it wasn’t much of him in the show, but I started loving the show anyway and of course the delicious omu-rice they would cook everytime. I thought she was great in that show.
