It’s "University" not "Yuncity"

On the bus, this Singaporean guy behind me asked the bus driver, “This bus go to Monash Yuncity?”  I knew his badly pronounced “Yuncity” really meant “University”. But then I wondered, does my English sound as bad as him when I speak?

I know sometimes I have to repeat to some of the locals here a couple of times before they understand what I am saying. And people have asked me what is my first language and when I reply English (Singlish really), they get shocked (Probably in their heart thinking, then why is her English still so bad?).

Oh well, I guess I must be speaking English the “Yuncity” way…..without realizing it
